Watch: Paid sick days on the Seattle Channel

Via Seattle Coalition for a Healthy Workforce:

On the Seattle Channel’s City Inside Out, host C.R. Douglas profiles the paid sick days proposal in Seattle. He begins with a look at business, including Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream – which provides paid sick days to their employees.

Nick Licata, Seattle City Councilmember in support of paid sick days is also interviewed, and the San Francisco paid sick days ordinance is examined. Douglas then moderates a discussion between Lisa Stone, Executive Director of Legal Voice, and George Allen, Senior V.P. at the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce.

The Washington Work and Family Coalition includes representatives of seniors, women, labor, health professionals, children’s advocates, faith communities, low income workers, employers, non-profits and other organizations. We’re working together to make it easier for parents to raise healthy children and care for aging parents; for workers to care for themselves or their partners in the event of a serious illness; and for businesses to offer modern workplace standards that improve productivity and worker health.
